“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”

Colossians 3:23

A Word from the Founder

I was born near the great Yangtze River in the city of Wuhan, China. I was raised by loving parents who taught me to respect authority and honor others. A good education was considered essential, so in 1985, I answered the calling of my heart to come to America. With only $40 in my pocket, I arrived in this land of freedom and opportunity as a P.h.D. – “Poor, Hungry, & Driven.” God's gracious hand was upon me, and I gratefully accepted a scholarship for a graduate program at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. This turned out to be the perfect school for me. I enjoyed Rapid City and the beautiful Black Hills immensely, and I enjoyed learning the English language and American culture. My adviser, Dr. Jack Weyland, stated in his recommendation letter in 1987, “I am greatly impressed with him. He is intelligent, hard-working, and easy to get along with. One of the ways in which he especially excels is in his personality. He is very gregarious with an excellent sense of humor.” Working hard, I earned my Master’s Degree in Physics in 1987 with a 3.9 GPA.

My life’s turning point came in 1991 in a small apartment in West Fort Worth. There, a local pastor, Miles Seaborn Jr., shared the good news of Jesus Christ with me. For the first time, I came to realize that God sent Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. I received God’s gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8) by opening my heart and inviting Jesus Christ to be my personal Lord and Savior. As a born-again Christian, I found a renewed sense of meaning, purpose, and direction.

In 1992, I founded Yangtze International, Inc. out of a one-bedroom apartment. Today, we are a flourishing company specializing in importing custom-made products from Asia. From the beginning, my goal has been to provide my clients with the highest quality products at competitive prices. I value respect, integrity, and honesty. Most importantly, I run my business according to biblical principles, which God continues to bless and prosper.

In 1997, I realized my lifetime dream of becoming a U.S. citizen and also married Meifeng, a beautiful Christian lady from Taiwan. We enjoy a wonderful marriage, and the Lord has blessed us with two precious girls. We are thankful for the freedom and opportunity to live in this blessed land called America.
